Trump Backs GOP Candidate To Replace Long-Serving Republican Senator😭

President Donald Trump has backed former federal prosecutor Kurt Alme to succeed Steve Daines after the Montana senator announced he will not seek another term this November. In a post on Truth Social, Trump praised Alme as a respected prosecutor, a graduate of Harvard Law School, and someone he believes can uphold law and order while strongly supporting law enforcement, veterans, and the military 🇺🇸.

Trump said Alme would focus on economic growth, tax cuts, reducing regulations, strengthening border security, expanding domestic energy production, and defending gun rights in Montana. He also noted that Daines had chosen to “pass the torch” and highlighted support for Alme from Gov. Greg Gianforte and Sen. Tim Sheehy.

Alme served as U.S. attorney for Montana from 2017 through 2020 after unanimous Senate confirmation, later becoming state budget director under Gianforte and executive vice president at National Christian Foundation. In remarks to the Daily Montanan, he said he wants to defend Montana’s values and help Trump continue an America First agenda. Daines said his decision came after careful reflection, describing public service as deeply rewarding. His retirement follows the recent announcement by Ryan Zinke that he will also leave Congress because of ongoing health issues and additional surgeries ahead. 🗳️
