13 countries join forces to attack

In a significant escalation of the ongoing Iran-US conflict, Iranian state television, citing military sources, has announced fresh attacks on US military installations across the Persian Gulf region. Reports indicate that Iranian forces launched ballistic missiles and other projectiles targeting key American bases hosting US personnel and assets.

According to multiple accounts, the Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates near Abu Dhabi was struck, triggering powerful explosions. Local authorities in the UAE reported a major blast in the area, prompting the temporary closure of national airspace. Residents were urged to remain indoors and avoid military zones.

Similar incidents were reported in Bahrain, where smoke was seen rising in the Al Juffair area near the US Fifth Fleet headquarters in Manama. In Qatar, the Interior Ministry advised citizens to shelter in place after a Patriot missile system reportedly intercepted projectiles aimed at Al Udeid Air Base, the largest US military facility in the region. Qatar’s Defense Ministry confirmed it had repelled several attacks and declared a state of high alert, while also closing its airspace.

Explosions were also heard in Kuwait, leading authorities to call on citizens to stay home and suspend normal work activities. Regional governments have activated air defenses, with many projectiles reportedly intercepted before reaching their targets.

These strikes come amid a fragile and repeatedly tested ceasefire in the broader 2026 Iran conflict. Iran has framed the operations as retaliation for US and Israeli actions, while Gulf states hosting US bases find themselves caught in the crossfire. Damage assessments vary, with Iranian media claiming significant hits and Western/Gulf sources emphasizing successful interceptions and limited impact.

The situation remains highly fluid, with risks of further escalation threatening regional stability, international shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, and global energy markets. Civilians in affected countries are advised to follow official guidance closely. As developments unfold rapidly, international observers are calling for restraint to prevent a wider conflagration.
