13 countries join forces to attack

Dangerous Escalation in the Persian Gulf as Iran Launches Attacks on U.S. Bases

In a significant escalation of the ongoing conflict, Iranian state television, citing military sources, has announced a series of attacks on U.S. military bases across the Persian Gulf region. The strikes mark a direct response in the broader 2026 Iran war, with Tehran targeting facilities hosting American forces in several Gulf countries.

According to multiple reports, Iranian ballistic missiles and drones struck key installations, prompting urgent safety measures. In the United Arab Emirates, a powerful explosion rocked Abu Dhabi, leading authorities to close the country’s airspace. The Al Dhafra Air Base, a critical U.S. facility, was reportedly hit by ballistic missiles, resulting in large explosions and visible damage to infrastructure.

In Bahrain’s capital, Manama, residents reported thick smoke rising in the Al Juffair area, home to the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters. Local officials urged citizens to remain indoors and avoid military zones amid the unfolding crisis.

Qatar faced similar threats, with its Interior Ministry issuing shelter-in-place orders as a Patriot missile defense system successfully intercepted incoming projectiles aimed at Al Udeid Air Base, the largest U.S. military installation in the Middle East. The country’s Defense Ministry confirmed it had repelled several attacks and placed forces on high alert, while also closing its airspace to commercial traffic.

Explosions were also heard in Kuwait, where authorities called on citizens to stay home and refrain from going to work. Reports indicate strikes near key facilities, contributing to a region-wide sense of alarm.

The attacks come amid heightened tensions following earlier U.S.-Israeli operations against Iranian targets. Gulf states hosting U.S. forces have found themselves caught in the crossfire, with repeated waves of Iranian retaliation causing disruptions to air travel, energy operations, and daily life. Air defense systems across the region have been actively engaged, though some strikes appear to have caused damage.

This latest barrage represents a dangerous escalation with potential far-reaching consequences for regional stability, global energy markets, and international security. The situation remains fluid, with information continuing to emerge from official statements and media outlets. Authorities are advising caution as events develop rapidly.
