According to reports from ABC News, this high-priority alert follows the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei during a U.S.-Israeli airstrike in Tehran on February 28. Following the leadership transition to his son, Mojtaba Khamenei, monitoring systems flagged a transmission characterized by “international rebroadcast” methods. Analysts believe this technique is intended to bypass internet-based surveillance, delivering coded instructions to clandestine operatives who remain dormant until receiving specific passcodes.
The potential for internal security threats has put federal agencies on high alert, particularly regarding the presence of Iranian sleeper cells within the United States. Security analysts have highlighted a “passport pipeline” involving travel through Venezuela as a primary route for these operatives to establish a foothold near American borders. Charles Marino, a former adviser to the Department of Homeland Security, cautioned that the U.S. is facing a dangerous “convergence” of threats.
