Israel’s leadership said the national security situation is changing rapidly after a fresh round of reported missile strikes linked to Iran intensified fears of a wider regional confrontation. Officials reported that several impacts were detected within a short period, prompting immediate security responses as authorities prepared for the possibility of broader military consequences involving both Israel and the United States. The latest developments pushed emergency services across the country into high alert. Warning sirens sounded in multiple communities while air defense systems were activated in an effort to intercept incoming ballistic missiles before they reached populated areas. Residents in several districts were instructed to move quickly into protected shelters as security forces monitored additional threats.

One of the most serious incidents occurred in Beit Shemesh, located west of Jerusalem, where a ballistic missile strike caused extensive destruction and left numerous casualties. Medical officials confirmed that nine people were killed in the attack, while another 28 were injured. Health authorities said two of the wounded remain in serious condition, with two others listed in moderate condition. The remaining 24 victims suffered lighter injuries and were treated by emergency teams at the scene before being transported to nearby hospitals for further care. Rescue operations continued for hours as emergency crews searched through collapsed concrete and debris to reach those trapped beneath damaged structures. Officials indicated that many of the casualties were inside a public shelter when the missile struck, making the collapse especially devastating for those seeking protection.

Jerusalem District Police Chief Avshalom Peled said preliminary findings show that the missile directly hit a synagogue. The blast caused major structural failure, bringing the synagogue down onto the shelter located underneath it. Peled described the strike as a direct and powerful impact, noting that most, and possibly all, of the victims were inside the shelter at the moment of the explosion. Investigators are still reviewing the exact sequence of events and assessing the full scale of damage. As tensions continue to rise, Israeli authorities warned that the situation remains highly unstable. Security forces remain deployed in key areas, and residents have been advised to stay close to shelters while emergency assessments and response operations continue. ⚠️🇮🇱
