A leading nonprofit organization focused on national security and public policy has voiced strong support for President Donald Trump following U.S. military strikes targeting Iran. The group, United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI), was founded in 2008 by former U.S. ambassador Mark Wallace and veteran diplomat Dennis Ross. Since its creation, the organization has worked to highlight the threats posed by the Iranian government, including alleged human rights abuses, regional instability, and attacks targeting Americans and U.S. allies.
In a joint statement, Wallace and former Florida governor Jeb Bush praised the military operation and the service members involved. The pair commended American and Israeli forces for what they described as a historic mission against Iran’s leadership and military infrastructure. They also applauded Trump’s decision to authorize the strikes, arguing that the Iranian regime has spent decades promoting violence and destabilizing the region while threatening the United States and Israel.
Bush and Wallace said multiple U.S. administrations had attempted to integrate Iran into the international community through diplomacy but were unable to achieve lasting change. They noted that the Trump administration had pursued negotiations in recent weeks before tensions escalated. According to the statement, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei bears responsibility for the crisis after continuing efforts to advance the country’s nuclear program. Meanwhile, Vice President JD Vance said the United States is unlikely to enter a prolonged conflict with Iran, emphasizing that any military action would remain limited and clearly defined. He stressed that Washington prefers a diplomatic resolution but warned that the outcome depends largely on Tehran’s next steps.
