House Speaker Johnson Faults ‘Bidenomics’ for Inflation Surge😎

House Speaker Mike Johnson Defends GOP Economic Policies, Criticizes Democrats on Inflation and Immigration. Mike Johnson on Sunday defended Republican economic policies, arguing that what critics call “Bidenomics” — characterized by high government spending — triggered inflation and broader economic challenges in the United States. Speaking during an interview on Fox News with hosts Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino, Johnson said the Republican policy agenda has already helped reduce inflation and strengthen economic growth.

Johnson attributed recent economic improvements to policies implemented after Republicans gained control of Congress and the White House, saying the party focused on lowering taxes, curbing spending, and encouraging growth. According to Johnson, key indicators now show inflation declining, gasoline prices reaching a five-year low, and economic growth exceeding 5 percent. “These outcomes show that when Republican policies are implemented, they work,” Johnson said, adding that voters may take those results into account in the upcoming midterm elections.

Johnson also criticized Democratic proposals to reduce funding for U.S. immigration enforcement agencies. He defended the work of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, arguing the agency plays a critical role in enforcing immigration laws and removing individuals considered a threat to public safety. In addition, Johnson pushed back against criticism from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez regarding the proposed Stop Insider Trading Act. Johnson said the legislation would prohibit members of Congress from trading individual stocks, describing it as an effort to strengthen public trust in lawmakers and prevent potential conflicts of interest.
