❤️WH Sends Termination Letters To Many Biden-Appointed US Attorneys

President Donald Trump’s administration has begun removing several U.S. Attorneys who were appointed under former President Joe Biden, signaling a shift in leadership within the federal justice system. The White House sent termination notices to multiple prosecutors across the country as part of an effort to align key positions with the new administration’s priorities.

In an email sent by the White House Office of Presidential Personnel, recipients were informed that their roles were being ended immediately. The message stated that, at the direction of President Donald J. Trump, their positions as U.S. Attorneys were terminated effective right away. While it remains unclear how many officials received the termination notices, several prosecutors—from Seattle to Maryland—have already stepped down. Legal experts note that it is common for U.S. Attorneys to leave their roles when a new president takes office. However, it is more typical for incoming administrations to request resignations rather than issue direct termination letters.

Among those affected was San Diego U.S. Attorney Tara McGrath, who confirmed she had been notified of her dismissal. Maryland U.S. Attorney Erek Barron also announced his departure in a farewell email to staff, saying it had been an honor to lead the office.Other departures included Ismail Ramsey of the Northern District of California and Seattle-based U.S. Attorney Tessa Gorman, who resigned at the president’s request. Dena King, the top federal prosecutor in North Carolina’s Western District, also announced her resignation. The changes reflect a broader transition as the new administration reshapes leadership across federal agencies.
