🌐Lewandowski Expected To Depart DHS After Noem Reassignment

Corey Lewandowski is expected to leave the U.S. Department of Homeland Security after President Donald Trump removed Kristi Noem as secretary on Thursday. Trump has nominated Senator Markwayne Mullin to lead the department, beginning a leadership transition at DHS.

Lewandowski served as an unpaid special government employee, a designation that generally limits individuals to 130 working days within a year. Despite lacking a formal title or Senate confirmation, he was widely viewed as an influential figure during Noem’s tenure and was often described by observers as functioning in a role similar to a chief of staff.

Rumors of a relationship between Noem and Lewandowski have circulated for years, though neither has confirmed them. Lewandowski declined to speculate on Trump’s decision and said he has not yet decided on his own future at the department.
