Obama Family’s Sad Announcement😭💔

Marian Robinson, the mother of former First Lady Michelle Obama, died peacefully at the age of 86 on May 31, 2024, in Chicago. The family announced her passing that morning, describing it as a quiet end to a life defined by quiet strength and unwavering support.

Michelle Obama paid tribute on social media, calling her mother “my rock.” She wrote: “She was there for whatever I needed—the same steady support for our whole family. We’re heartbroken to lose her today.” Former President Barack Obama also honored his mother-in-law, describing her as one-of-a-kind. “There was and will be only one Marian Robinson,” he posted. “We feel lucky to have had her in our lives. We’ll spend the rest of ours trying to live up to her example.”

Born Marian Lois Shields on July 30, 1937, in Chicago, she was one of seven children. She married Fraser Robinson III in 1960, a city water department worker and U.S. Army veteran who later battled multiple sclerosis. The couple raised their children—Michelle and her brother Craig—in a modest South Side home, emphasizing education, resilience, and family values despite limited means. Marian worked as a secretary after studying to become a teacher and later became a beloved figure in the Obama White House after moving to Washington with the first family.

Her legacy lives on through the values she instilled in her children and grandchildren.
