Kamala Harris Criticizes Donald Trump Over U.S. Attack on IranšŸ’„šŸ”„

Former Vice President Kamala Harris criticized President Donald Trump on Saturday over U.S. military strikes targeting Iran, issuing a statement on social media as tensions in the region continued to escalate. Harris argued the operation risked drawing the United States into a broader conflict that Americans do not support. In her statement, the former Democratic presidential nominee said she opposes a regime-change war in Iran and warned that U.S. troops could be placed in unnecessary danger.

Trump, however, has not publicly indicated that the United States intends to enter a prolonged war with Iran. In a message posted to his social media platform, Truth Social, the president said the strikes had eliminated several senior Iranian leaders, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Trump described the operation as a major blow to Iran’s leadership and suggested it could create an opportunity for political change within the country. The military action reportedly involved coordination with Israel and targeted high-ranking officials tied to Iran’s military and security apparatus.

Speaking to reporters Saturday, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the global geopolitical landscape is shifting rapidly. Rubio urged U.S. allies to recognize that international dynamics are changing and emphasized the need for continued strategic discussions among Western partners. Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said senior congressional leaders were notified ahead of the operation. According to Leavitt, Rubio contacted members of the congressional ā€œGang of Eightā€ to brief them on the planned strikes before they were carried out. Leavitt added that Trump monitored the situation from his residence at Mar-a-Lago and spoke by phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. She said the president and his national security team will continue closely tracking developments in the region.
