Tragedy in Stockton: Child’s Birthday Party Shattered by Deadly Gunfire
A joyful Saturday afternoon birthday celebration for a young child in Stockton, California, ended in heartbreak and horror when gunmen unleashed a rapid barrage of gunfire on the gathering. What began as a festive occasion filled with colorful balloons, bright decorations, wrapped gifts, and the laughter of children and families turned into a scene of “pure devastation” in a matter of seconds.
The shooting occurred shortly before 6 p.m. on November 29, 2025, at the Monkey Space event venue on the 1900 block of Lucile Avenue. Witnesses described the terrifying moment when rapid shots rang out—many initially mistaking the sounds for celebratory fireworks. Chaos erupted as partygoers scrambled for safety. Investigators later found the aftermath devastating: overturned tables and chairs, scattered birthday gifts, and festive decorations lying among dozens of shell casings. Evidence indicates multiple shooters fired both inside and outside the venue using at least five different firearms.
According to authorities, the attack claimed four lives: three children—two 8-year-old girls and a 14-year-old—and a 21-year-old man. Ten to thirteen others were wounded and hospitalized, with several victims remaining in critical condition as medical teams worked urgently to save lives.
