Panicked JD Vance’s words during Washington shooting revealed by lip-reader

New Insight from Forensic Lipreader Reveals JD Vance’s Reaction During White House Correspondents’ Dinner Security Scare

A forensic lipreader has shed new light on Vice President JD Vance’s response during a terrifying security breach at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C.

The incident unfolded Saturday evening at the Washington Hilton, where journalists, politicians, and dignitaries had gathered for the high-profile annual event. The glamorous evening turned chaotic when gunshots suddenly echoed through the ballroom, sparking immediate panic among attendees.

Security footage captured the dramatic moments as Secret Service agents and bodyguards rushed the stage, swiftly surrounding President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump. Agents also moved decisively to protect Vice President Vance, pulling him from his seat amid the escalating threat.

According to forensic lipreader Nicola Hickling, who analyzed video of the event, a bodyguard urgently approached Vance and instructed him, “Run, run.” A visibly startled Vance responded, “What’s happening? I’m going,” before being quickly escorted away from the area.

Authorities later identified the suspect as 31-year-old Cole Thomas Allen of Torrance, California. Reports indicate Allen was heavily armed, carrying a shotgun, a handgun, and multiple knives as he attempted to breach a security checkpoint near the ballroom. He was eventually subdued by law enforcement and photographed lying face down on the floor.

Among those affected was Erika Kirk, widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated months earlier. Clearly distressed, she was escorted from the venue in tears, telling a bodyguard, “I just wanna go home.”

In subsequent remarks from the West Wing, President Trump described the confusion of those initial seconds. He admitted mistaking the gunshots for a harmless sound, such as a dropped tray. However, Melania Trump immediately recognized the danger, identifying it as a “bad noise.” Within moments, the Trumps and Vice President Vance took cover under their table before being rapidly evacuated by Secret Service agents. One law enforcement officer was shot at close range but survived thanks to his bulletproof vest.

Security teams conducted a thorough sweep of the ballroom to ensure the safety of all remaining guests. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing, with authorities continuing to examine Allen’s motives and preparation.
