Seven Killed in Wyoming Plane Crash, Including Three Members of Gospel Group The Nelons

A small private plane crashed in a remote area of Wyoming on Friday, killing all seven people on board, including pilot Larry Haynie, his wife Melissa, and several members of the award-winning gospel quartet The Nelons.

Among the victims were Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, along with Kelly’s daughter Amber Nelon Kistler and her husband Nathan Kistler. Also killed was family assistant Melodi Hodges. The group was traveling to perform aboard the Gaither Homecoming Cruise in Alaska, a major event featuring prominent Christian music artists.

Autumn Nelon Streetman, the sole surviving member of The Nelons’ immediate family, was not on the flight. In an emotional statement, she expressed profound grief while thanking fans and supporters for their prayers. “We appreciate your continued prayers, love and support as we navigate the coming days,” she wrote.

Witnesses reported the twin-engine aircraft appeared to encounter mechanical difficulties before the crash. The plane burst into flames upon impact in a remote field, and despite a swift response from emergency crews, no survivors were found.

The Nelons, inductees into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame, enjoyed a decades-long career ministering through music and sharing messages of faith and hope. Tributes have poured in from across the Christian music community and beyond for the families affected by this devastating loss.
