😢Savannah Guthrie made an emotional visit to the Today show team. She thanked colleagues for support while her mother remains missing.

The Savannah Guthrie return to the Today show became a topic of attention after she made an emotional off-camera visit to the set on Thursday to speak with her colleagues. During the visit, Guthrie thanked the team for the support they have shown during a difficult time for her family, saying her coworkers cared about her mother just as deeply as she does.

Guthrie has been away from the broadcast since the weekend of January 31. Her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, was reportedly kidnapped in Tucson, Arizona. Because Nancy Guthrie also has a heart condition, the situation has created additional concern. Authorities have not released significant updates about the investigation.

While speaking with colleagues, Guthrie said she remains hopeful but acknowledged that the experience has changed her in ways she is still processing. She said she does intend to return to the Today show, though the exact timing and circumstances of that return remain uncertain. In the meantime, coworkers have stepped in to support the program. Hoda Kotb, Sheinelle Jones, and Craig Melvin have helped anchor the show. During Guthrie’s visit, meteorologist Dylan Dreyer led the team in prayer, asking for a miracle. Colleagues later described the reunion as heartfelt and deeply emotional.
